How To How to Join the Weekly Teaching Sessions
Wednesday 4th March 6pm-7pm (GMT) // Wednesday 11th March 6pm-7pm (GMT) // Wednesday 18th March 6pm-7pm (GMT)
.1. Make a cup of tea, and have a pen, paper, and any notes or worksheets close to hand
.2. Try to find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed.
Join using your computer
1. Click this link: https://bekigowing.daily.co/onlinepeercoaching (virtual room will open from 5.30pm GMT, Wednesday 4/3/20. Session runs from 6pm-7pm)
2. In the top ‘Join using your computer’ section, hover over the green arrow on the right, until it changes to ‘Join meeting’
3. If you get an alert saying ‘bekigowing.daily.co wants to use your camera and microphone’ (or something similar), click Allow.
4. Enter your first name, and click the green ‘Request to join’ button.
5. The button will turn orange and say ‘Requesting to join’. As long as you’re trying to join at the right time, and your name matches the peer-coaching training member list, Beki will add you to the call. Your request should be approved quite quickly - if you’re waiting for longer than a minute then exit the call and go back to step 1.
6. When you join the call, use the button on the bottom left of the screen to turn your camera on, and mute your microphone until you want to speak.
Join using a smartphone

Daily.co tips
Button features starting from the left:
Video camera: Click to turn your camera on/off. When it’s black you’re sharing your video, when it’s red it’s off.
Microphone: Click to turn your microphone on/off. When it’s black other people can hear you, when it’s red you’re muted. In the calls, please keep your mic muted until you want to speak.
Chat: Click to open text chat
Recording: Click to record the session - you shouldn’t need to use this. All teaching sessions will be automatically recorded and shared with you afterwards. Please do not record your peer-coaching practice sessions without the other participants consent (all participants will see a red ‘Recording in progress’ banner at the bottom of the screen if anyone is recording the session).
Share screen - Click to share your screen with the call participants - you shouldn’t need to use this.
How to test you audio
Click the 3 dots labelled ‘More’
Click ‘Camera/microphone settings’
Check that you have the right speakers, microphone, and video camera selected.
Click ‘play test sound’ to check your speakers are working
If you make a noise or speak, the 3 yellow lines next to ‘Mic’ should increase in size
