How To Use The Peer-Coaching Slack Channel

If you would like, you can choose to join our Slack channel to communicate with participants outside of your learning group. This is a space for you to ask questions, and share feedback, resources, information, etc.

You don’t have to join, and all the essential information about the training will be emailed to you, but it’s available if you want to use it.

How To Join and Start Using Slack

1. You should have received an email inviting you to join, but you can also use this link.

2. If you join using the link, you’ll have to verify your email address before you can set up your name and password.

3. If you joined using an email link, you’ll go straight to setting up your name and password:

4. Once you’ve done that, you’ll see a welcome screen where you can set your profile picture and bio:

5. Click the little white downwards arrow next to ‘Peer-Coaching…’ in the top left corner:

6. Click ‘Preferences’:

7. Click ‘Notifications’ and decide how frequently you want to receive updates from Slack. I suggest the second option, so you don’t miss out on messages. Just remember to check back regularly to see what’s being discussed. When you’ve chosen your notification preferences, click the ‘X’ in the top right corner.

8. Click the ‘#chatter’ channel on the left hand side, and introduce yourself to everyone:

9. Have a look at the other channels, share information, ask questions, and join in! Keep checking back every few days to see what’s being discussed and to share your coaching experiences with the other members.
